PASS Team Announces Release of PASS/EQUIP 3.7
PASS Team has recently released a new software version of PASS/EQUIP, comprehensive software for pressure vessels analysis and design.
The new software version contains important enhancements as well as bug fixes. Besides, PASS/EQUIP 3.7 supports the new licensing system that has been presented earlier this year.
The most significant changes:
1 – Functionality of a non-circular element has been expanded:
- ASME VIII-1 rated non-circular member end heads/caps have been added;
- Ability to insert fittings into the end bottoms/covers of a non-circular element has been added;
- “Wall perforation” option has been added.
2 – “Node” component for forming connections, guy wires, and metal structures was added.
3 – Calculation of flange bolt tightening according to standards has been added:
- ASME PCC-1-2022
- EN 13445-3-2021
- STO 00220368-023-2015
4 – Calculation of the anchor bolt embedment depth, calculation of the minimum distance between anchor bolts according to MDS 31-4.2000 were added.
5 – Bend calculation according to ASME B.31.3-2014 has been added.
6 – ASME VIII-2 flat head calculation with center hole has been added.
7 – Calculation of ribbed flat cover according to EN 13445-2021 has been added.
8 – Ability to install a saddle support on a conical transition (without calculation, with determination of loads for transmission to the FEM fitting) has been added.
9 – Ability to install a trunnion on the column skirt has been added.
10 – Calculation of shell-and-tube heat exchangers is in accordance with ASME VIII-1/2-2023 (calculation is unified in accordance with ASME VIII div.2-2023 with stress assessment according to div.1 or div.2 at the discretion of the user).
11 – “Manual/Automatic Wind Direction” option has been added.
12 – “Kettle Shell Exchangers” option (according to ASME VIII-1,2-2023) has been added.
13 – Program interface has been significantly enhanced:
- The “Group editing of materials” tool was developed.
- Visualization of the gravity center after calculation has been added, in operating conditions and in installation (dry weight).
14 – The profile database has been improved, grouping of standards by country has been added.
15 – Mexican standards (IMCA 6th Edition) have been added to the profile database.
16 – Licensing system has been updated:
- Remote internet licenses are added along with traditional local and network dongles.
- The list of supported hardware protection dongles (Sentinel HL, Guardant) has been updated. Modern dongles formats are supported.
- The automatic software update system has been improved to include automatic update of a hardware dongle.
